Many home internet plans are getting a bit more upload speed, internet providers say. The change comes from NBN Co, which runs the National Broadband Network. It is listed on NBN Co's own product plan from July 2026. Internet provider Leaptel says the change started from Sunday 18 October. Another provider, Neptune Internet, says it is expected by the end of October. NBN Co has not put out a public notice about when it starts. So it is rolling out gradually, and not everyone will get it at once. Leaptel says most fibre and cable connections can get up to 15% more upload speed. Older connections that use copper wire for the last part of the line get up to 4%. For example, the fastest home fibre plan has an upload speed of 500 megabits per second. Leaptel says it can now reach up to 575. Users may need to restart their modem to get the boost. Faster uploads help with video calls, gaming and sending big files.
