Confirmed
Queensland Health Minister Tim Nicholls has apologised after a Brisbane man died waiting more than two hours for an ambulance. Nicholas Bradford, 51, of Annerley, called triple zero with chest pain shortly after 10pm on Saturday 10 October, 7NEWS reported. His call was marked as high priority. Paramedics arrived about 12.10am, more than two hours later, 7NEWS said. They then waited about 30 minutes for police to get into the home. Mr Bradford was found dead in his bed. His family say they found out about the delay through the media, Brisbane Times reported. Mr Nicholls called the delay unacceptable and said sorry. The Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) is doing a critical incident review. It said patient privacy limits what it can say. It is not yet known what the review will find. The case has raised fresh questions about ambulance waiting times in Queensland. People need to trust that help will come quickly when they call triple zero.
