Confirmed
The Special Broadcasting Service (SBS) has a new Chief Content Officer. SBS said on Wednesday it had appointed Kathryn Fink to the job, in an expanded role. Content is the shows, sport and audio a broadcaster makes and buys. Fink will oversee television and online content, sport, and National Indigenous Television (NITV). She will also run audio and language content, digital, and marketing. The change starts immediately. Matthew Hancock moves up to become Director of Digital. Stig Bell becomes Chief People Officer. SBS said Fink oversaw its World Cup coverage, which SBS says "reached more than 18.1 million Australians". She also oversaw the reality show Alone Australia. SBS calls it its "most successful original commission". SBS says its free streaming service, SBS On Demand, has 16.9 million registered users. "SBS's distinctive role in the Australian media landscape has never been more important," Fink said. SBS is now looking for a new Director of Audio and Language Content. Who will get that job is not yet known.
